This morning I found Chris parked in front of the hustle & bustle of the Nursing station. I told him that I needed to take some "upbeat" pictures to show everybody how he is doing.

We snuck out of his ward and went for another spin around the hospital.

Chris and I went out-of-doors for some fresh air but the weather wasn't very nice and the perpetual construction noise made us wonder whatever happened to the old Quiet Hospital Zone rules?

When a Bus showed up he told me to put him on it.
I said, "Hey Chris where do you want to go?"

On our way back I parked him in front of the admitting station and made him confess in a loud clear voice...

He thought that was funny :)

We arrived just in time for his physio session. With very little help Chris can now stand up straight for about 5 minutes..he did it 3 times. He can contract his "frozen" right hand into a fist and move his right leg around.
He was even tossing a squeeze ball around with one of the staff.

The news in the last posting was rough so I just wanted everyone to get a clearer image of who I see when I am visiting. Oh sure a lot of things are still muddled and confusing for him but we still have fun. Chris may have a long way to go but when I look back a few weeks, I can hardly believe how far he has come.

LOL "I did it!"

That's great. Except you forgot that it's all about me. ;)

Woohoo! Thanks, Donn!

I bet he made the fist when you asked him if you could take a photo of the back of his hospital gown for MJ.

I just read yesterday's update today and found myself blubbering, too. This one has me smiling. You are writing Shakespeare here, Donn -- comedy and tragedy -- except it's real life. I was visiting my dad today, a victim of multiple strokes who is now in a long-term care facility as he needs 24/7 care, and it was a really pleasant day. Everyone was happy, we sat in the sunshine on the deck, watching the creek through the trees, and ate illicit junk food I got to thinking that with a few minor adjustments I just might have to move in there myself! If Chris was a resident in a care facility and you were visiting every day I'd be first in line to apply for a job there -- just for the lols as my son says. Anyway, I know he'll wow those whose job it is to lay out the worst-case scenario and I know that with you on his team you'll figure out the best life he can lead. Just my .02.

Awesome fotos! Luv 'em! He looks great and he seems to be in very good spirits! Great job, Donn! These pics are a testament to WW's strength and his sense of humor. I totally believe he'll make a super recovery. He's already done so much! And he's got you and a great support system to help him grow stronger, get better, and be happier.

How lovely to see him smiling. Gosh I wonder if he knows how much he is missed. I am glad to see that is getting to move around and especially happy to see that he is standing and tossing a ball. After yesterdays report, well, it was great to hear and see this.

Chris, now get up and show them what you are made of!

soft love,
T

Life does have its ups and downs...the sadness I felt yesterday when I read your Tuesday post and then the smile on my face today as I looked at all the photos you've posted showing Chris' smile. You two make a great team.

nerves and stuffs connected to the brain works on its own timing. there can only be improvement when stimulated continuously with exercise, nutrients, etc. so keep at it as chris is now doing.

my simple vertigo took 4 months before i could feel 'almost normal' and it has been 6 months now and i am still recovering. but yes recovering! so imagine the maze of webs he has connected to the rest of his body that needs reconnection. i am taking nerve tablets, nutrients, etc. still. so keep at it. the improvement will be slow, but it's improvement nevertheless.

and... chris is such a good looking dude even in such a condition. he does not look one bit sick, lol.

Chris looks so good, so strong. You are good for him, you are like another form of physio/speech/occupational therapy + FUN!.

You maybe Canadian but you have a heart as big as Texas!
Excellent on standing, hand and leg, that is bloody fantastic!

Practice and work on that brings it back, strengthens, re connects, relearn...practice, practice..

He is such a beautiful person. He smiles and the world lights up.
Hugs and love to everyone!
